Service Delivery
PACAM does not directly set up new palliative care sites or directly provide palliative care. PACAM encourages the establishment of new palliative care services and to support the quality of palliative care provision through:
- working partnerships with government, CHAM, stakeholders and individuals
- sensitisation
- development of palliative care guidelines
- technical assistance
PACAM acts as a resource of information and contacts for palliative care programmes.
There are over 8 established palliative care programmes delivering palliative care in hospitals and homes all over Malawi. They are as follows:

PACAM’s national events and literature have made many health professionals aware of palliative care but there is still demand and need for further sensitization activities.
