Dr Takondwa Chimowa is a board member of the Palliative Care Support Trust. He joined the board in 2025. A consultant neurodevelopmental paediatrician by profession.

His work involves providing high quality general paediatrics and child health services and also developmental paediatrics services to children with neurodevelopmental disorders and their families. He works at Zomba Central Hospital in the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health. He holds a Sub-Specialty Certificate in Developmental Paediatrics of the College of Paediatricians South Africa (Cert Dev Paed).

He is a member of several associations including the International Child Neurology Association (ICNA), and the Eastern African Academy of Childhood Disability (EAACD) which work towards improving quality of care and also research on children with neurological and neurodevelopmental disorders across the globe with a special focus in resource restrained settings.
